该项目以分子遗传学手段建立以敏感化细胞为基础的高效快速筛选模型，筛选中药中的抗菌活性成分并研究抗菌中药的作用机理，为开发新型抗菌药物开拓新领域。

很多传统中药均具有不同的抗菌作用。但是它们组分复杂，机理不明，有效成分难以确定。本研究所采用的筛选方法是高效快速的，而且可以直接阐明作用机理，所以极有可能从中药中开发出新型的抗菌药物。
