Chinese-brand mobile phone manufacturers have lost almost half their local market share in three years to more sophisticated selling by foreign rivals and the black market.

Domestic makers now hold just 29.4 percent of the market, down from more than half three years ago.

Chinese brands have lost their two "magic weapons", low prices and diversified sales channels, to overseas rivals, and been defeated to a large degree by black-market dealers, according to insiders. - Xinhua News
